Biography

A/Prof James Thompson is an experienced robotic, laparoscopic, endoscopic and open urological surgeon, having completed a 6-year College of Surgeons accredited training program in all aspects of general urology in 2016.

He has specialty training in (and passion for) the treatment of prostate and bladder cancer using the latest robotic surgery techniques. He undertook a post-graduate fellowship in robotic and open uro-oncology at University College London Hospital in 2017, then was appointed at UCLH as a consultant robotic and open uro-oncologic surgeon in late 2017.

In 2018, he accepted an offer to return to Sydney as a staff specialist at St George Hospital.

Fees

With a valid referral, you will receive a Medicare rebate. A valid referral has to be current and come from a general practitioner or another specialist.

Initial Consult:                                             $260.00  Medicare Rebate: $81.30

Follow up Consult:                                       $170.00  Medicare Rebate: $40.85

Cancellation Policy - There is a strict cancellation policy in place for appointments with Dr Thompson. Cancellation or appointment changes require a minimum notice of 24 hours, and failure to do so will result in a fee ranging from 50% to 100% of the consultation cost. This is not covered by Medicare.
