Biography

Jo is a registered psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience in the treatment of bipolar disorder, depression, and mood disorders. Her work integrates evidence-based psychological therapies with practical lifestyle and wellness strategies to support long-term mood stability and quality of life.

Jo’s therapeutic approach draws from a range of evidence-based interventions including:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Family Focused Therapy (FFT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mindfulness-based approaches
  • Schema Therapy

She has a particular interest in integrative mental health and mood regulation, including the role of sleep, circadian rhythms, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and daily routines in emotional wellbeing. Jo is known for her warm, supportive, non-judgemental, and collaborative style of therapy.

Fees

With a valid GPMHCP referral, you will receive a Medicare rebate. If you have private health insurance you can claim this with us at the end of your consultation.

New Patient:                             $330.00  Medicare Rebate: $93.35

Follow-up:                                       $265.00  Medicare Rebate: $93.35

GPMHCP: General Practitioner Mental Health Care Plan, provides you access to the Medicare rebates.

How GPMHCP works: (GPMHCP is by calendar year, the sessions do not rollover it is a maximum of x10 sessions per calendar year)

GPMHCP is written by your General Practitioner which provides you the initial x6 rebated sessions with the therapist. You will need to go back to your GP for a review to access the additional x4 sessions (Total of x10 sessions).

Each referral from the GP must say which sessions they are referring you for –

1st Referral:  x6 Sessions  Initial x6 sessions

2nd Referral:  x4 Sessions  Additional x4 sessions

Please be aware if you are under the care of a psychiatrist being referred to Jo Leidreiter, the referral provided by them does provide access to the MHCP rebates. You will not be required to get a referral from your GP as well.  

Private Health Insurance: If you have private health insurance cover for Psychology, we can claim this on the spot for you leaving only the gap to be paid. Please bring your membership card with you as we cannot make a claim manually entering your number, we are required to swipe your physical card.

Cancellation Policy: 48 hours for Psychology. Full consultation fee will apply if cancelled within the timeframe.
