Biography

Julia is a pelvic health physiotherapist who is personable, friendly and highly experienced. Julia graduated from her Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2011. She has extensive experience working across multiple areas in the public hospital system as well as private practice in the Northern Territory and New South Wales.

Julia discovered her passion for pelvic health 6 years ago. She has recently completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy (at the University of Melbourne) as she wanted to provide her patients with the most up to date, evidence-based care that she could.

Julia is proficient in developing her patient’s management plans and is passionate about educating her patients to better understand their health and treatment outcomes. Julia understands the importance of collaborative goal setting with her patients. She appreciates that the pelvis is an area of health that some people feel uncomfortable about. She is respectful, non-judgemental, professional and is aware of the importance of trauma informed care.

Outside of work, when Julia is not at the playground with her 3 young children, you will find her walking her dog on the coast with a coffee in hand or swimming in the ocean.

How EPC works:

An Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) is a referral that is written by your GP which provides eligible patients with Medicare-subsidised allied health appointments, like physio, podiatry, chiropractic, Dietitian, etc. An EPC may also be referred to as a GP Management Plan (GPMP).

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for an EPC or GPMP, a patient must have a chronic or terminal medical condition with or without complex care needs.

A chronic health condition is defined as one that has been present for 6 months or more. It includes, but is not limited to, asthma, cancer, cardiovascular illness, diabetes mellitus, musculoskeletal conditions and stroke.

Your GP will need to assess your eligibility for an EPC plan.
