Biography

Dr Parvaresh holds Fellowship qualifications in Addiction Medicine (FAChAM), Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM), and Health Administration (AFRACMA). She works as a Staff Specialist within NSW Health and is actively involved in clinical leadership, medical education, and research. She is also an affiliated Senior Lecturer with both the University of Sydney and UNSW.

Her clinical interests include opioid treatment programs (methadone and buprenorphine treatment), cannabis use and dependence, alcohol and other drug disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, prescription medication dependence, and harm reduction approaches. Dr Parvaresh has a particular interest in improving access to care and supporting patients through collaborative and practical treatment planning.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Parvaresh is completing a PhD at the University of Sydney focusing on cannabis use in people receiving opioid treatment. She has presented her work nationally and internationally and remains actively involved in addiction medicine education and service development across NSW. Dr Parvaresh values building strong therapeutic relationships with her patients and believes in working together to achieve meaningful and sustainable health outcomes.

Dr Parvaresh will be commencing at College St Specialists from 17 July 2026

Fees

Initial Consultation:                                          $380.00 with a Medicare Rebate of $140.03

Follow Up Consultation:                                   $245 with a Medicare Rebate of $120.17

Short Follow up Consultation:                         $180.00 with a Medicare Rebate of $44.39

If you have a Health Care or Pension Card the fee may vary, please contact reception on (02) 9331 7228 – option 1 to discuss.

Referral:

With a valid referral, you will receive a Medicare rebate. A valid referral has to be current and come from a general practitioner (valid for 12x months) or another specialist (valid for 3 months).

Cancellation policy:

Due to a high volume of appointments Dr Parvaresh has in place a strict cancellation policy. We request that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellation and/or change of appointment. A fee may be applied to your account if a cancellation is within the 24 hours. This will not be claimable by Medicare.
